Need help on 3.0 rebuild parts (newbie)
First off please excuse another rebuild parts needed thread, the more I read the more confused im getting.
Im rebuilding my 3.0 sc motor out of my 1982, I need a crank, rods and pistons. After doing a lot of reserach im getting a little confused on the set up options. I dont want to modify anything on the motor just want to be able to put the parts which will work with the existing set up. I found both a 74.4 and 70.4 crank, Ive been told to go with the 70.4. The original rods are labeled 9301031050R (need all changed due to balancing) Ive seen new sets go from $300 to $1500 online, is there a specific one I should be looking into? One cylinder is damaged and its labeled 95zn1w3. I found a set of 95mm pistons as well, will this work with the 70.4? while changing out the one damaged cylinder? Please excuse all the questions im new to this, my skill set so far can only get my motor out and do the dis assembly ![]() Also if anyone has the parts I need im open for emails ![]() Thanks |

Some of the answers
70.4 with 9 bolt flywheel end 930 rods with a small end 22 mm pin hole 3.0 Pistons MUST have 22 mm wrist pin. If they're 23, they're Carrera You don't want to mix Mahle and K/S P&Cs Inside piston KS has a 5 digit number starting with 95xxx Mahle has a 5 digits with digit 3 being a letter. IE/. 95L67 KS are Alucil Mahle are nikisil. Bruce |

The bolt holding the rod snapped, damaged the rod, crank and cylinder.
