Miniature '68 911 Engine really running

Yesterday I was invited to join a group of fellow Dutch 911 enthusiast to witness something extraordinary. Frits Hofman a currently retired instrument maker of the Netherlands Aviation Laboratory demonstrated his 1:3 replica of his formerly owned 1968 911 engine.

It was spectacular to see the attention to detail and to hear this little engine rev up to above 10000 RPM http://youtu.be/CneVBi4y1Cw

If you are interested and want to practice your Dutch you can read the thread on the Dutch | www.porscheforum.nl | - Toon onderwerp - Wie kent Frits Hofman uit Heemstede? (mini motor 911)

All bearings were made from brass by the man himself. Engine is running now for over 30 years sweating a little (0w5 oil), but no rebuild needed.

Wow, that's incredible, detail is amazing. I'll bet that took a while to make!

It makes me want to build a mini 911 to put it in
