71 2.2 E - case perimeter washers, oil pump and cooler seals
Hi all - I m re assembling my engine due to pulled intermediate shaft stud and it has been apart a long time - years. The old Anderson book says use crush washers under the case perimeter studs, but the factory manual says spring washers - the mag type. Which is correct or current practice?
Also, i have green rubber tube type seals for the oil pump, (both sides) red for the case and red for the high pressure side of the oil cooler, but green for the feed thru line on bottom of the cooler. What is current practice on this? If i should change some of the greens for red, who is current source for individual seals. Thanks for the help. |

Try not, Do or Do not

Aluminum crush washers and nylock nuts for all mag case projects unless concours restoration is the order of the day.
Viton seals for everything. The color is immaterial.
