1971 Proper Throttle Body and Velocity stacks
I found this in an earlier post....
Bottom port diameters 911T: 31.5mm 911E: 34.5mm 911S & 2.7RS: 37.8mm Are these the throttle body sizes, or are these the velocity stacks sizes? Does anyone have the proper part numbers for a 1971 Throttle Body / Velocity stack? I believe this is the 911E velocity stack 911.110.314.1r ->> 72-73 911E stacks but I don't have a number for the 911S Also, Is this the proper number for the 911s throttle body? 911.110.085.10 S Thank you, MaseratiSD |
I thought that they were a little different.
Early 911T - Zenith Carbs 911E - 36/32 911/S - 38/36 Late 911T - 38/32 911E - 38/32 911S - 38/36 Part Numbers become complex: Early Throttle Bodies up to 1971 911E - Sportomatic - 901.110.001.01 (left) No number shown for RHS - Manual - 901.110.001.00 (left) 901.110.002.00 (right) 911S - Manual - 901.110.034.00 (left & right) Early Stacks 911E - Sportomatic - 901.110.043.01 (left & right) - Manual - Shows the same part numbers as above 911S - Manual - 901.110.031.01 (left and right) Late Type 1971 - 1972 Throttle Bodies 911E - Sportomatic - 911.110.083.51 - (Shown as exchange part) 911E - Manual - 911.110.083.50 (left) 911.110.084.50 (right) 911S - Manual - 911.110.085.50 (left & right) Stacks 911E - Sportomatic - 911.110.031.01 (left & right) - Manual - Shows the same part numbers as above 911S - Manual - 901.110.033.01 (left and right) Late 1972- Throttle bodies 911T & 911E - Sportopmatic - 911.110.081.11 (left) 911T & 911E - Manual - 911.110.081.10 (left) 911.110.082.00 (right) 911E - Manual - 911.110.083.10 (left) 911.110.084.00 (right) 911S/RS - 911.110.085.10 (left & right) Stacks (plastic) 911E - 911.110.065.02 (left and right) 911S/RS - 911.110.063.02 (left and right) There are clearly some nuances between left side and right side I haven't understood and the PET does not make this clear. There must also be detailed size differences which again aren't clear and I would be interested to learn more. I also believed that there were 3 x variations on Plastic Stacks - 911T, 911E and 911S/RS but I can only find two variations on the PET??? |
I use this reference for MFI stacks and Throttle Bodies

Tom posted some very good information. Now here's where to get what you need.
Supertec rebuilds and restores MFI systems and can modify your system to meet any needs. Any size within reason. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1436197255.jpg 911 Vintage Parts 760-731-4911 has a complete inventory of good serviceable used systems or individual parts. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1436197380.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1436197410.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1436197439.jpg |
Henry, are those the throttle bodies you just finished for me?

I have been interested in re-furbished TB's for some time and have a question that are slightly off topic.
When you bore a throttle body oversized does it affect the fuelling provided by the MFI pump? I have a set of TBs fitted to a 2.2 litre 911 and clean out all the corrosion in the bore and correctly seat the throttle plate we have had to bore to 41mm and make a new throttle plate. I am concerned that when we re-install them on the engine that we may have issues with progression due to a mismatch in the profile of the space cam and the new bore diameter. I hope I am worrying about nothing but could use some advice. |

Wow,
Thank you everyone for the details, truly appreciated. I had read so much conflicting data I had lost the bubble. Best Regards, MaseratiSD |
[QUOTE=Henry Schmidt;8698394]
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1436197410.jpg Henry, Good day. I noticed in your picture here that the throttle body sizes have been written on the shelf: 36...34....31.5....28 I assume they are the bore diameters at the bottom of the TB's and if so, what model is the 34mm? Thanks in advance. |
Well?
