Hi Aaron,

I had a question about how you approach the position of the injector fitting on the later head. Seems logical that the position is "centered" toward the middle/quadrant of the intake port. But is the angle just a matter of setting it such that it clears the throttle body?

At first I was thinking it could be angled just like a CIS or Motronic injector. But then I realized it would probably hit the MFI throttle bodies at such at angle.

Just trying to get a feel for how different the angle is from an MFI arrangement vs. the later CIS or Motronic.Kevin

I have the angle somewhere, but I just use a factory head to quickly get my angle and position. Yes, it can hit the throttle body as it is a tight area.

Also, what are your thoughts on the CP pistons? Just curious how they differ from the JE usual suspect.

Thanks
Kevin

So far I like working with them. The big difference is I have much more control in the design of the piston. I get a solid model and theoretical weights prior to placing an order. Something I never got thru J.E. Other piston manufacturers do the same thing, but getting direct feedback from an engineers can be difficult.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion & thanks for your insight on the CP pistons.

Hello
It's often difficult to machine the plastic stacks, Did you bore them ?
Philippe

Hi Philippe,

I bore both plastic and mag stacks inhouse. These were bored 46mm top and 41mm bottom. They are matched to a set of throttle bodies that were bored to take 41mm throttle plates.

Hi Aaron,
I just have to say i love your work on this engine and i want to do the samething on my 3.0!
But i like to know howmuch hp and torque this set up will generate?

Cheers,ferry

BURN-BROS 01-03-2016 11:03 AM

Hi Ferry, Horsepower is around 280 hp depending on the exhaust you choose. With a little more cam and a little less exhaust you can see 300hp.

Hi Aaron,
Beautiful build. Congratulations.
I was wondering which method and media you have used for cleaning the case and all the other alloy to this brand new level ?
Cheers,
Kerem

Thanks Karem,
I sub contract to a company that specializes in surface preparation. They are usually involved in the manufacturing industry and prep castings and machined parts. The service is not cheap, but the result is a very consistent and appealing finish.
