Oil Pressure Switch Adapter Sealant?
3.2 930/20
 I am in the process of replacing oil seals and hopefully fixing all of the seeps and leaks on my 3.2. My oil pressure switch is fairly new but I wanted to check the adapter to see if it was a source of a leak. I can tell you it was not as it was very dry and had some green sealant on the shaft and threads. I am trying to determine what the green sealant was. I was extremely hard to get off but when I did it crumbled. Couple of questions: Adapter - Do you guys think this was blue Loctite or some other type of sealant? Adapter - I am having hell finding the 18MM (ID) sealing ring for the adapter, anyone know this part number? Switch - Wayne's engine rebuilding book recommends Teflon tape for the switch threads, is this still good practice? In retrospect this was not leaking, but without a baseline there was no way to know...  Thanks for looking!

Use the washer that comes with the switch. Don't tighten so much that it distorts.
Washer by itself is hard to find but a new switch is inexpensive seeing you have to pay shipping anyway Bruce |

I am ordering a new switch with a washer. My question was about the adapter. I need that washer and would like to know if it needs sealant.
My adapter washer does not look bad. I polished it up but would like to order a new one if I can. Any thoughts about the adapter questions?
