Question GT3 4.0 crankshaft fitment

Good afternoon,

A search found this thread about fitting an 80.4MM crank to a 930 case.

GT3 RS 4.0 crankshaft fitment

Can any of the engine builders and enthusiasts share their experiences with a normally aspirated build utilizing this crank.

Thanks!

The main point to remember is, the GT3 and the turbos of the present day use the 964 casting case for the powerful applications.

Strictly to be pedantic, the Turbo stopped using the Mezger engine in 2009 and all 991 cars except Cup and RSRs use a 9A1 derivative engine.

Stroker

The 4,0 crank is 80,4 mm if you have a 84 mm crank it is probably one of my stroker cranks.

If you need background about this let me know - I'm happy to help.

Thumbs up

Thank you for the replies - so it appears that the 964 casting is required to fit this crank. Any thoughts on the ideal rods and pistons for this configuration.
