Help: Rod bolt identification
I'm rebuilding a 3.3 turbo motor. The rod bolts look like aftermarket. Can you help me identify the brand. Are they re-useable?
Thank you in advance! ![]() ![]() |

That is the bolt originally installed by PORSCHE (marked 00). Should not be reused, order new ones with part number 964 103 176 00 (marked 12.9 on head).
They have the following tightening procedure: Step 1: Torque nuts to 15 Nm (10.5 ft. lbs.). Step 2: Torque nuts 90 +/- 2 degrees Step 3: Torque nuts an additional 90 +/- 2 degrees. PORSCHE also recommends to replace the nuts. Part number for those are 930 103 174 00 |

Stock 9mm rods bolts for 3.2, 3.3, 3.6 air-cooled Porsche are prone to failure.
We use only ARP but Raceware produces a reasonable product as well. ARP part number is 204-6005 and I believe our host sells them.
