Help to identify 964 cam tower bolts and gallies
I'm trying to identify the purpose of some of these studs and oil passages on the 964 cam tower.
What are the studs marked in green arrows used for? What are the threaded holes in blue used for? There is, what appears to be a small oil inlet above the threaded hole.

Remove the studs and install a "freeze plug" like the older cam housings use. In other words, no need to spend the money on a machined aluminum cover like this.
![]() Just install the steel press-in cap and you're good to go. Part number is 930.105.161.00 Pelican Parts - European Automotive Parts and Accessories - Porsche • BMW • Mercedes • Volkswagen • Audi • Saab • Volvo • MINI
