$1000? $2K? As cores an engine with a trans are worth more than that.
I paid $2K for my 3.0 core 4-5 years ago and prices have only gone up since then.

No where does it say it's been sitting outside, corner of storage facility I believe means inside.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

You are right on the prices, but it's the unknowns that have to be considered.

This might be a great deal for someone if it checks out in the end.

It's on a skid outside. I doubt he brought it out because the light was better.

where about in Canada are you located. have you contacted Randy at Whaletail to see what its worth ?

Also keeping mind as mentioned this engine could be junk inside and buyer as pointed out is taking a huge risk.

I had some other thoughts about this. Rather than sell it as an engine. Seller could always remove fan, runners and shroud and sell it as a complete long block core. Then make a few bucks on the other items.

I think you would have to sink a fair. It of money into it, but a rebuilt 3.0 long block when done would be fairly desirable for those who want to redo an engine but don't have the confidence to crack the long block open. Or don't want to pay a mechanic to.
I'll let the OP disclose his his location, but he's nowhere near Whaletail or myself.
I agree, I told him at minimum remove the fan, remove the cut off axles, separate the engine trans and sell separately. To make the most coin tear it down, inspect and then part it.

It's a core, even if it is outside as long as it's wrapped up and off the ground (skid) the cores "should" be OK. Yes I would take it outside for better pics, but then again I can.
As far as a rebuild goes...Just the time it's been sitting tells me it should be at minimum tore down cleaned and reassembled. Again the OP was forth coming on how he got it.
I know exactly how much a rebuilt 3.0 costs...I'm looking at one as I type this post.

As far as some of the stolen comments I'm kind of surprised, you never hear comments like this in the classifieds.
What I would believe is the car was written off. That also would explain no air box, it could have been smashed.

How it has been removed is pretty common in Canadian scrapyards, every one I have seen, save the specialty shops, just hire kids to hack the cars apart.
Every car I take they just smash through the windows with the fork lift, lift it by the roof and then flip it over.
I bought a subaru engine looked exactly like that, scrap guy wanted extra for the trans, I said I didn't need it, in the end he still gave me the trans. They don't care.
