fuel fitting help
I'm looking for fuel fitting that will allow me to connect to the stock fuel line in the engine compartment of my 82 SC. I have removed my CIS for this coming year, but do want to replace the CIS unit sometime in the future. As a result, I need a 14MM 1.5 pitch metric adapter that has a male nipple end to anything but metric. I would like 6AN, but pipe would be OK. Anyone have a part number. I have tried all the usual fitting manufactures with no success. The stock Porsche has what seems a 45 degree nipple.
The following picture is of the fitting and line I want to replace. ![]() |

So your looking for a "metric convex male 14mm x 1.5" at one end, and a "male 6AN" at the other end, right?

Basically yes, however; the 6an could be either male or female as long as I can do away with the 14mm end.

Call Jegs @ 800-345-4545. They carry "Russell" fuel fittings and adapters. They have a 14mm x 1.5 thread male at one end and a male #6AN on the other. Part # 799-670520 and price list at $4.99.

If Russell is out of stock, Earl's sells the part, too. Go to your local earl's retailer or peruse summitracing.com
BATINC in Florida probably sells something suitable, too. I think they may make a -6 hose fitting which will have a 14mmx1.5 male hose end. Worth a shot. This would eliminate the adaptor and you'd just build your -6 hose. Doug

I have already gone that route with both Jegs and Summitt. I have purchased that fitting, part number 799-670520. It has a straight end on the male metric side. The 6an side has the nipple flare. I need the nipple convex 45 degree flare on the metric side.

I see your problem. Seems they only carry that size up to 12mm with the convex.

Fuel fittings
That looks to be your fuel return line, right ? The Cohline hoses are near impossible to find adaptors for due to their design. I'm in the same boat as you with my '85 Carrera & PMO's, ended up cutting the fitting off (with a few extra inches of hose) and using a barbed coupler with hose clamps, about $5 for 3/8" at any auto parts store. If I ever put the CIS back on I'll just connect the old fitting/hose section to the coupling, even though it is not pure stock original it is 100% functional.

Your correct about what the line is for. It is the same fitting for both the return line and the fuel line into the engine compartment. I just hate to cut the line because I have all intentions of replacing the CIS unit. I started installing webers just to enjoy the car for the summer months with intentions of rebuilding the CIS and reinstalling it with a Whipple type supercharger unit that I have. The Porsche has sat for the last five years. When I started this weber install, I figured it would be a straight install with perhaps some adjustment to the carbs. Maybe someone has a couple of extra fuel lines they might be interested in selling. I'll be going to the Hershey swap meet next week trying to locate/ purchase a couple of extra lines.

I had this exact same problem. I think you will find that the seat cone angle is 60 degrees. The germans use 24 and 60 degree seats. To accomodate them both Parker makes what they call the "ball nose" female swivel. A part reference is 2C342. This is a swivel adaptor. I cut of the hose end and welded on a -6 steel AN fitting, then drilled out the ID to 5/16". I looked forever and never found a "ready made" adaptor.

![]() ![]() I know you must have resolved your fitment issue a long while back, but for those who have a Metric fitting problem presently, I can help. I am a Cohline dealer, and yes, many of the metric fittings used by Porsche are unique and hard to find. For the Male Flare hose end shown in post #1 photo, Cohline makes this......... ![]() ......the Metric version of a Flare fitting, similar to AN or JIC type fittings but with Metric threads. I have lots of Metric fittings & adapters in stock, and when the need comes up I am willing to make small production runs of the unusual ones. Here are a few being made to connect the M14 return hose of a stock 87 911 3.2 Carrera to the AN-08 Male fitting of a Fuel Safe fuel cell....... ![]() Typical simple adapters like above run $35 +/-, more complicated ones run a bit more. Hope this helps. Len ![]() Last edited by BoxsterGT; 03-19-2013 at 05:54 AM.. |

Len, Do you have any of these fittings? I use them on the 3/16 OD x .109" ID, (4.8mm x 2.75mm) semi-rigid nylon MFI fuel lines.

![]() ![]() Hi Mark- Yes, but only a limited amount; enough for one set of (12). A large quantity would have to come on my next order out of Germany. Please email me for details. Len ![]() Last edited by BoxsterGT; 03-18-2013 at 11:21 AM.. |

![]() ![]() Just to bring this post up to date, I have started making Male M14 Flare to Male M14 Male cone adapter fittings like this......... ![]() This has not been plated yet, but will be available soon properly plated. I know this is still metric to Metric, but up to now no-one who supplies Metric fittings has this. For those who are installing 3.6 motors in 3.2 Carrera chassis, for the return I am now making a M16 Female to M14 Male cone adapter like this..... ![]() Hope this helps. Len can make almost anything you need for plumbing your P-car. That last photo is my car and the custom fitting at the fuel rail return line. Highly recommend his service and products.

Len... do you have a fitting for attaching a fuel pressure gage to the extra fitting (maybe for air bleed) on the left fuel rail of the 3.2L motor?

![]() ![]() Here's an update of post #15 showing the "Direct Connect" adapter I make for the 911 SC Hardline....... ![]() This allows a Filter or a rubber hose to be easily connected when converting to EFI or Carbs or swapping motors. Len at Autosportengineering dot com ![]() |

![]() ![]() Thought I would bring this up to date, as there may be others who need custom Metric Fittings..... I have them for both Fuel lines and Oil lines, and "Direct Connect" AN adapter fittings that crimp to original Porsche hose. Please, NO pm's. Cannot send photos with pms. len.cummings @ verizon.net , but without the spaces. ![]() Last edited by BoxsterGT; 01-11-2024 at 03:51 AM.. |
