How to Bench Test a 915 Trani
I had to drop the motor on my brand new build to deal with what looked like a clutch fork issue but turned out to be a cracked pressure plate.
While I'm waiting to sort things out with the supplier, I have this 915 trani on my bench that I sure would like to test . Is there a particular procedure to bench test without opening the unit? Thanks in advance. Johan |
You can work the shifter in all gears, but that won't tell you anything, other than it shifts.

Remove the inspection plate and post a pic of the back side of the plate and the internals.

If you had a decent size electric motor and an inverter you could possibly zero load spin it to 2-3000rpm but again this wouldn't tell you much. I used to design/manufacture Transmission test rigs but even a relatively simple rig would be hugely expensive as you would also need to be able to load the unit. The cheapest way to test it is to stick it in a car. :) |
