Oil inlet tube to AN-16 inlet adapter

I dont plan on making a complete AN line from my tank to the oil inlet on my case, but since I've added an extra filter console, I need to fabricate a tube with an AN fitting on one side and the clamp side on the other.

I've seen this piece in the wild, but I cannot seem to track it down.

Here is a piece I have that was hacked off an broken oil cooler. I plan to weld on a AN fitting to the bottom of this, but Im not a very skilled welder and would prefer to purchase a pre fabricated one.

Ideas on a new solution are welcome, or thoughts on where to get the part.

yeah that's the part I installed you can see in the pic under the blue tape. I need to route a line for the oil. and I'd prefer to use my S hose. so I need a tube with AN female already installed.

Not sure if I completely follow what you're trying to do, but if it involves having that oil feed tube essentially solid mounted via fittings to your engine, you should add a support or brace from the tube to the engine or I'd worry about it cracking from vibration. A custom oil line might be a better option.

I have what you mean, bought it from Smartracing I guess, but they are no longer in business... Here is what it looks (not my engine):

Roland, that's exactly the piece that I saw on the other car here in my shop. I cannot seem to find this pre fabricated anywhere. Im either needing to make mine own with a mounting bracket, or go with the custom line approach.

Whoa, so do you locate the coolers up front or behind the d-side wheel well? Race car I assume, yes?

I have a large setrab 72 row up front in the air dam (IROC style). No, it's a high performacne steet build.

Subscribed.

I'm doing the same thing on my 930/66 engine. Using the C2 Turbo oil filter console, the RSR style oil thermostat bypass and now at the same point you guys are. I've seen the inlet adapter that mounts to the engine below the filter at Patrick Motorsports(Patrick Motorsports By Patrick Motorsports Porsche & Mid Engine Performance Specialists), JB Racing(JB Racing, Inc. - Racing Services & Products) and I have an email out to Jerry Woods Enterprises(JWE Motorsports) to see if they have it. I'd like to get the two pieces from the same source, just to make sure they interface properly. Patrick Motorsports looks like they have the adapter and tube, but they mention the tube is marketed for 3.6 engines...haven't talked to them yet.

Maybe the huge contributors to this site, Steve Weiner of Rennsport, Henry Schmidt and John Walker, can help us out in sourcing these custom parts?

I think there are a variety of commercially available parts. Note that different blocks may have different needs.. and I seem to recall that 964 and 993 cases have different needs.

I used a part from Patrick with my 3.6 engine. I believe that Rothsport may be another resource. See, e.g., Welcome to Rothsport Racing - Engine Products

I believe I still have a home made one for a 964 case if you want it.

As noted above, JWE may still sell some of these parts. They stock and sell quite a few of the items that SRP used to sell. See, e.g., PN #155115

Hey Mike, thanks for the offer to use your 964 inlet tube. I found the one Id seen here at the shop. Its the Smart Racing product that you posted the catalogue pic of. JWE has them in stock and they should also come with the mounting brackets as well. I'll update the post when I receive it!

You are welcome.

Folks should note that many of the items in the old SmartRacing Products (SRP) catalogs are still available from JWE, and they have developed some new items as well.

SRP sold some products they didn't make or develop as "pass through" items and most or all of these are not available from JWE. Quite a few of the other products are available from JWE.

Examples of some new items that may be available are clever clutch and cable throttle set ups, and modified 911 oil tanks (which are really neat).
