3.0/3.2 upper cylinder air baffle on earlier engines
I had to remove my 2.7 alt housing and air shroud for some wiring updates.
My question is it beneficial to use the later 3.0/3.2 upper cylinder air baffle on earlier engines? The tins in question are # 18 TIA, ![]() |

Luke, I think it would be more important to trim the dividers on the 2.7 but if you have the pieces sitting on the shelf, it's not going to hurt.
You know that part doesn't go on the turbo 3.3. I don't recall if it was on the 3.0 turbo as it has been decades since doing my 76 turbo Bruce |

Hi Bruce,
My 2.7 already has the modified cylinder baffles between the cylinders. I purchased the upper tins last year so I have them on hand. I thought I could use them to help with cooling the cylinder bases but wanted to confirm this. Thanks, Luke |

The 2.0-27 cylinder tin and 3.0-3.2 are different lengths. Not easily interchangeable.
The top deflector tin may add additional cooling but not much.

Hi Henry,
I already have the modified org. 2.7 tins between the cylinders. What I'm asking about is the tins that sit on top of the cylinder on the later engines. Would it be beneficial to add them to the 2.7 for some extra cooling at the cylinder bases ? |
