Crank shaft in-out allowable movement

While installing my fan in my 3.0 I noticed that when I ever so slightly pried a screw driver between fan shoud and lower crank shaft pulley to help seat and align the fan shroud, I noticed that the crank shaft moves in and out slightly when lighsly pried upon. Is this normal??

Some slight endplay is normal, but noticeable end play is probably too much. I don't have the spec off the top of my head, but the crankshaft has a thrust bearing that should constrain the end play...
