Wrong ring to it?

Hello all I'm having an issue trying to fit piston rings for my 2.7 i ordered Goetze rings from our host and all the boxes are slightly different one even says Mercedes on the box! But all the numbers match up. The problem is the second ring is too fat to fit in the lands do I have the wrong rings or Pistons not original to the case?

Looks like you have the ring set for a 2.7 CIS piston. Ring size for the CIS pistons: Top ring-1.478 to 1.490mm, Middle ring-1.728 to 1.740mm and oil ring-3.978 to 3.990mm.
The piston in your photo looks to be a 90mm RS piston for MFI or Carbs not CIS. So you have the wrong ring set.

There doesn't appear to a different set for 2.7 they only list one for 90.00 bore. Could I use number 1&3 rings and source the correct middle ring?

The 90mm RS pistons were originally made for 2.7RS MFI engine so yours are a perfect fit.

So I ordered new rings from our host (grant brand ) I'm not sure I like the looks of the oil rings the scrapper looks different than the Goetze brand and different than the old rings. Should I bale on the grants?
