Long period between build and first start - correct maintenance?

Hi guys,

Its been about a year and a half since my motor was done, as projects go I just haven't got around to cranking and I'm worried about moisture build up.

Every second month or so I crank the motor, just until I see the pressure needle move. All fluids are in and in the transmission. I warm the garage considerably before as additional precaution. I know its probably safer to pull the plugs and turn over by hand, but alternatively is cranking ok?

youll probably get varying responses, but I think what you're doing is probably ok. make sure the fuel system isnt hooked up. If you turn it by hand, you'll never get oil pressure.
