Nothing new in this one, apart from the view.

Simply amazing.
I've visited this thread many times to gawk and keep coming back. As someone who uses solidworks because I have to, I keep wanting to ask why, but that's because I don't have the patience to complete such an endeavor. The detail and care that you've put into this easily shows us the answer to why, passion. And that's fantastic. I look forward to following along as your project continues to unfold.

I use SolidWork's everyday, and glad I don't have such complication daily.

I know right? On one hand, he's probably using 3DSMax, or some other polygonal model base, and using textures to achieve a lot of the fine details. So the models themselves aren't as correct as if it was parametric (i.e. Creo, Pro/E, Solidworks, etc) But the rendered images/animations are truly astounding nonetheless.

Did you use a generic chain file or start from scratch? Either way seems like a bear!

I made it from scratch. It was a bit tedious, but the ability to pattern an extruded cylinder along a curve made lining everything up a bit easier.

Ah, ok. Everything you've done is tedious.
You should YouTube some of the designs so folks can see how much work you put into it! Make it sped up. That'd be superb. |

Again, beautiful work! At first I thought I was looking at my car (post #98) but my daughter tells me the colour is not slate grey, but some sort of green (I'm colour-blind).! What colour is it?
After seeing your renderings, I realized that the oil-cooler duct was originally grey. On mine, it's black with a lot of scratches, showing the grey underneath, and it looked terrible. I stripped it and polished it and it looks great!

Thank you! It's actually not a Porsche color, I would say it's like an Albert Blue with more grey added to the mix.
