Wrist pin to piston clearance
I have the Bentley Service manual and I cant seem to find the clearance. Does anyone know it? I noticed she slides right though with no interference. Is this correct?

It seems to me that when I rebuilt my 86 the pins were pretty easy to install. The aftermarket pistons I just put in my race car had pins that slipped in easily. As long as they don't seem sloppy, I wouldn't worry about it.

I recall Mike Bruns at JB Racing saying he likes to see 6 to 8 thousandths clearance on the pin to piston fit for their race engines. He replied to my inquiry about tight fit and gave some good advice
Wrist Pin Fit in Piston Bore?

THX Kevin
...your right about slippery slope...I also screwed up the piston squirter's. Removing them was easy but peening the case to secure was a PITA. After removing one I screwed up I removed to much of the aluminaum area. Now I went to install another squirter and realize it sits to high not allowing me to peen the area. I also didn't apply any loctite so I guess the other two will need to come out. Taking to my buddy in Atlanta...I hope they can make the repairs. Couldn't sleep last night just thinking about it. Im hoping that they can reem further down and reset the squirter. Any ideas? THX Andy

You can get oversize squirter's, the case would need to be enlarged for the them.
