dpmulvan...maybe i am from the old school ..we never used anything on the copper rings.I have seen some people even using JB weld..I guess the reason just to make sure it will not leak.I have done lets say over 30 engines 911s-sc and never had any leaks...i guess i was confident what i was doing;-)

If you read the label of a tube of Curil you'll see why people use it. Confident or arrogant?? Hmmm France ok I get it now.

Are we all 100% sure this is true? Because I had no experience with this issue and didn't really know what to say when he presented this as the cause.

Needless to say if this is true I will be leaning on this info very hard.

Thanks

Look at pictures of an internal thermostat and you understand. They can't block flow. They divert it one way or another, or somewhere in between....

Dpm-dude...well if you would read correctly it does not matter where my address is or where i live..

Arrogant not ,just telling i am from the old 911 school and my mentor from Zuffenhausen told us never have to use anything on these copper rings so i have been doing it( most my live in Los Angeles) ,like that...how about them apples....;)

No harm using a little Curil on the base gaskets but just a thin film is all that's required, not like in that pic.

Let me get this right, you spent $$$$ for the rebuild and then after he effed it up he wants to charge you another $2k to make it right? He says your valve cover is warped, in other words he never checked it. Didn't you get any kind of warranty initially? Maybe that's how he makes money, lowball quote for a rebuild and then hits you for the rework?

Is his last name meister?

Get your money back and take it to a decent human that knows how to build motors. If he won't give you your money back get nasty.

dpmulvan ,i have to admit i do not get it..;-)do you think that there was no mentor from zuf... or what is in question here..?
