looks like 993 dilivars,
I just use a breaker bar on the 10 mm because some times my snap on impact doesn’t do it. Bruce |

piston marks
Pistons do not look too bad.Good to look at the rod bearings as they can get a flat spot from contact. An egg carton works great to lay out the rocker arms in order 1-6 from left to right.Keep digging.Fred

993, the point being, why would you remove them?
When they were purchased there was a loctite on the threads that activated from the heat of the threading install. You ll need a torch to remove them and exact replacements are near $50 each Bruce |

I also planning on replacing all fasteners with Raceware (head studs, rod bolts, etc...) |
took out the right side camshaft.
This camshaft was VERY DIFFICULT to pull out. the 3rd bearing seemed to get stuck... after about 15-20 minutes of playing with it, I finally was able to pull it free. Anyways... posted some pics that made me curious about what some of you experts may be able tell me about it. What are the numbers? What does it tell you? Also... what's your opinion of the bearing surfaces? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1510262471.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1510262471.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1510262471.jpg |

If you have 993 head studs, those are highly rated. Leaving them saves you $1000 as that's about what they cost. I believe they are considered top of the line, but will let experts chime in... Why are you shipping your case cross country? What's wrong with it? |

Unless there is a known issue with your case, why do anything but clean it? Those 930 cases are usually bullet proof. |

The other problem is that I don't have any local shops in my area... at least none that seem to know what they're doing to even clean my case and stuff. Besides that... all my machine shop work is going to be done by Ollies, so figured I might as well send them everything. :D |
From what I’ve read, you’ll get it all back someday....

Just don't tell your wife.

I need to get all my oil lines internally cleaned too, as I have some metallic 'dust' showing up in my oil. |

Here is a better shot after. I should mention that I cleaned most of the gunk off before I put it in the dish washer. Later I pulled out the large end plug on the gallery to make sure there was not gunk in there. I also was not trying to polish my case. Just make it look clean.
