2.8LS with 3.2 crank and 90mm bore?

Currently on BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-porsche-911s-targa-4/

'71 S case, 3.2 crank, 90mm RS pistons and cylinders with S cams.

I haven't seen this engine configuration before, and was just wondering if anyone has experience with it?

The build seems a little odd for a race engine, and maybe even more odd (expensive) for a street engine?

That somehow they put a nine bolt crank into a six bolt case is likely one of the LEAST contrived things that you might see on BAT?

I was really surprised that there wasn't more discussion about this in their comments section.
