3.6 Cam Timing with Stock Tensioners?

What is the consensus?
I have seen some people who say to use a steering wheel puller, stomski tool, or other such device to tension the chains.
I have also seen some who say to use the stock tensioners to tension the chains for timing.
I am ready to time my cams and don't have the specific tool. Should i wait to source one or are the stock tensioners sufficient?

I ve always used the stock tensioners in good condition
There is a variable in the numeric settings, the chains are tight, but not distorted, and as the chains heat they expand.
Everything is variable

That’s the purpose of the hydraulic tensioners, to keep that variable on check, cold or hot.

I used the stock tensioner as well.
