oversize main bearings cost !!! :(

Hi Everyone,
anyone here had experienced the need for oversize main bearings ??

I'm in the process of rebuild my engine (911sc) I sent the case to the machine shop for inspection and the case line bore is 0.010 (from previous rebuild) number 8 bearing is standard, crank is std/std

the issue is the price tag on these oversize main bearings is just ridiculous how expensive these are, any alternative options ? probably not, but still cannot belive and digest the cost $$$$$$$

Thanks
Jose

Better get the bearings quickly. I was in the same boat with my engine and found out that there were only 14 sets left in stock in Germany about 6 months ago. Doubtful that they will make any more ever again. And the nose bearing comes with it as .010" O.S. so you have to buy a STD sized one, if yours is no good.

the used bearings are in good shape, I'm wondering if these can be sent for re-coat ?
anyone here have done something similar ?
I have to mentions that case was splitted because the engine was out already the issue with the engine was a cylinder head /valve seat
Thx

Send them to HM Elliot Inc, Mooresville NC 704 663 8226
you will need to check the after coating clearance it will reduce what you have by .0008 +/-

Probably time to look for another case
If a valve was the problem, why did you split the case.
You did a line bore when the current way to go is milling center line and linebore to standard.
