that thing was smooth and silent! i never heard it moving. the motor was built into that shaft that the big coil spring was on. so no over-hanging motor out in the middle of the garage. very cool. it is strange, but i think that design never caught on. i never saw one in real life. in a real garage.

I have three of the Wayne Daltons working in my garage. Had them 10 years now and they work great! Quiet..fast..and no opener hanging from the ceiling...perfect!
