The 87 cab I just bought has an Alpine 7517 head unit. From what I understand these were early-90s units. I bought an 8-pin MBUS to 1/8" to hook up my phone, but it's not recognizing it. From what I've read, it should be universal, though it needs to be put in aux mode. However my unit has no setup button, just a CD selector, which does nothing.

Does anyone have a manual for this model? Or familiarity with it? I suspect I might be SOL, which isn't a big deal - the cable was $5. But I'd rather not buy another head unit if I don't have to.
