sounds to me like cht sensor. if it is you will kick yourself as you could have used that paper clip to jumper it out and get you home.
let it cool over night if it starts the next morning and runs fine till it warms up jumper out the cht with a paperclip if it then runs fine you need a new one.
the early rev.used a single wire a d grounded through the head. the new ones have a second wire which is a dedicated ground.
