It looks like Cork to me. I restored my 79 carpet. I'm not sure how mechanical you are. But I removed all of the carpet and cleaned it one piece at a time with a Bissell carpet machine and Bissell soap using the upholstery attachment. I also had a squirt bottle with 50/50 Purple Power degreaser/water and a soft bristle brush for the tough spots. It removed all the dirt and grease stains. The nastiest water, oil, dirt mix I have ever seen came out of this carpet.
The color fade will require dying. If you look under the seats you will see the original color matched the leather. I was lucky and Superior restoration is local.
Superior Restoration Products I took the carpet from the back section that goes under the seat to them. They have all the factory color codes for interiors. He mixed a bottle of water based Carpet dye in Porsche Cork. We tested a spot that had never seen the sun and it matched perfect.
I sprayed all the carpet with a touch-up gun on a makeshift bench (sawhorses and plywood) on my side yard. Taping up the turbo script was the hardest part. I don't have a before pic but this is how it looks now. The lighting in the garage isn't the best.
