I'm mostly worried about my daughter being overly exposed to violent and sexual material. Will she be exposed to violent and sexual imagery? Yes. IMHO its all about controlling the context and frequency of this material.

Kids have to deal with suicidal thoughts and emotional lows so I don't see why you would be so opposed to your kids having to watch a movie that may allow them to deal with these emotions instead of just letting these thoughts and emotions fester.

As unfortunate as it is some kids are better at getting a message from a TV show than a several hundred year old play written in old english.

Perhaps you are just not describing your objections to this assignment and movie very well pwd72s but if this is how you deal with sensitive subjects in your household I'm more worried about how you are raising your kids than the assignment materials of the NEA.

If you know how to properly communicate with your children and teach them your beliefs I don't think you need to be so paranoid that a school assignment is somehow going to pervert them.

The real world is awaiting your children no matter how much you may try to insulate them from it.
