In addition to the Back to the Future attraction, also the John DeLorean story is very interesting. Aside from the whole drug thing DeLorean had a remarkable career in the automotive industry starting in the 1950's. He was a real leader in the industry back in the 60's and 70's, and his departure from GM to start his own car company was a big deal ala Preston Tucker, etc. Clearly there were many compromises made in this car to get it into production, but within the limits of what a small automaker could do it was an impressive undertaking. Not to mention the stainless steel construction which to this day has not been widely repeated by any carmaker.
DeLorean's aren't my thing but I understand why people love them. If you like automotive history read the book "On a Clear Day You Can See General Motors" that was written indirectly by DeLorean. A good read.
