"Fear Factor" food - self gathered meat.
managed to get a couple of boy deer to stand still last week. i'm a big fan of Steven Rinella, a great spokesman for the sport. he eats everything.
our group agreed to try the testicles. more out of curiosity. FIRST AND FOREMOST: it is scary how easy they come out!!! very uncomfortable with how they are barely attached.
i skinned the membrane, cut it into medallions, dusted it with flour and cooked it in butter.
they taste just like oysters.
other camp snacks:
quail heart skewers
fried quail gizzards.
and same bits from Eurasian doves...which are legal to take with a .22 pellet rifle. super fun!!
and cottontails taste better than chicken. jussayin
