I think the future is good for the necessary mechanical parts. I think the aftermarket will step in as it has for the old Beetles.

Amazingly I found O'riley has many old VW parts. I had to do a major brake job on my '67 VW and they had everything. Ordered it on line and it came to my door. Great! Funny that Pelican laughed at me when I searched for Beetle stuff here.

It will continue to be hit and miss for the aircooled Porsches. For example a few years ago I ordered some shims and other parts for my 915. Suddenly they were NLA. Now you can get them aftermarket, I think.

As far as trim and special interior stuff goes, that remains to be seen. 356 stuff still shows up from time to time. So we should be good for a long time.
