i am buying a Browning Buckmark. the target bull barrel version.
i just got back from hunting AZ, and in the dead time afternoons we got out .22's and target shot. i shot my brothers Ruger MarkIII, and felt like a damn marksman! we also chased cottontails.
my friend brought different types of ammo..subsonics, segmented, hyper velocity..mexico, CCI,..it was staggering. he had a small duffel bag of the variations.
i just remember buying bulk Remington "GOLD" boxes for plinking, and CCI stingers or yellowjackets for hunting.
with the hyper velocity segmented ammo from CCI, that .22 is insane..you could protect yourself with one. it blew up a 2.5 gallon water jug. 1600+ fps!!
what are you shooting? i need a great hunting round for a backpacking sooty grouse hunt in the Sierras. .22 handgun hunt!!

I think the thing to remember that all .22 brands are messy during clean up. I hate hopps-9 that stuff stanks! All brands are pretty close, I dig federal, Winchester, and cci, all fun brands, all good for pliggity plinkin'.
