I am always perplexed. What is the point of raising the cab way up if the axle to ground distance stays the same or is increased only slightly with bigger tires? Visibility and suspension articulation I guess are the only benefits but I don't see it significantly increasing ground clearance much. And how much suspension articulation are you getting if you keep stick axles? The monster trucks and race trucks all run independent wishbones on all 4 corners.
As for the bed height, IMO it's unfortunate all modern pickups have such a high profile. My 1500 Silverado bed sides are too tall to reach over to put something in or get something out. Next time you see a pre-90's pickup take note of how accessible the bed is.
