Hi Paul,
Thanks for the info. I think I must have read everything on the web regarding the 3.6 conversion. I do plan on buying the complete kit from Steve but I still have lots of small questions which cross my mind and I am sure you guys would easily be able to help me with. I mean I have no experience with Porsches beyond 1973, until now I so when I picked up my 964 motor I didn't even know what much of the lines and cables even did.
It's a real learning curve. I am still sourcing the parts and do not intend on the conversion for a few months but the more prepared the better. I will also be upgrading the brakes (964 maybe?) oil lines (3.2 with fan) torsion bars (unknown what sizes yet) and exhaust compete B&B as they are on sale for $2k complete.
I am going for the original look but with 3.6 power. The car is staying original with no flared arches and its all its classic chrome.
I have a pair of recaro sport seats for it and also a pair of 7R rims so I can increase the rear tire to 215. I know larger or 16's would be better but I do want to retain the under stated classic look.
I will post some pictures soon.
Other simple questions include.
- do I need to use the 964 plastics fuel accumulator
- I have the 964 fuel pump where is the best place to mount it
If possible I will probably phone a few of the 3.6 guys and also seek some verbal advice.
Thanks
