Mine is in the same spot as Steves (also on a zork). I think you want to be as far upstream in the exhaust flow as possible. It still gives sensible numbers on idle on the zork.
I have not spaced mine up off the zork. I am still on my first probe - after several track years, and extreme EGT temps. Guys - what is the importance of raising it up?
BPU699, yes, mine is very close to the shroud (I actually have another heat shield sandwich before the shroud)- just angled off to allow the wires a bit of free movement. I drilled a hole thru the shroud and routed mine thru the lid latch gap.
