I had the chance to drive just about everything Porsche offers at the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama last year. None of them had standard transmissions. The PDK when driven hard was absolutely incredible. One of the "we'll do the driving, you get to ride" demonstrations was the launch control of the 911 GTS Turbo. 0-70-0 mph across a parking lot in the blink of an eye. Make that no blink for me, as I got tunnel vision. They claim they have 2 cars that run that routine, 50 "launches" each per day, and they have yet to break one. I'd say go for a really spirited drive in your friends PDK Cayman and you might just forget all about the stick. The current generation of offerings from Porsche are just light years advanced as compared to my old 911SC.
