If I had a lathe, or even a drill press, I probably could.
I found a guy on eBay who would do custom work, he'll make shaft adapters out of 6061 aluminum for $6.00 each, plus shipping.
The couplers on Amazon and McMaster Carr are all only 3/4 or 1" long, and I think that would interfere with the clamp on the motor.
