My wife doesn't like heights and she's a bit claustrophobic - flying really isn't for her. She's pretty leery of elevators - she will use them but she doesn't like them. So I took the kids to the top of the Empire State building, but she found something else to do while she waited.

Pity for me because I'm an aviation enthusiast. I've been up the Hudson corridor in both a light plane and in a Citation, we also circled Manhattan at minimum altitude in the Citation (before 9/11) .

Helicopter rides and really tall buildings are mostly out.
