Really a real Tesla?
Fellas,
Have you questioned whether that car is a real Tesla? or a conditioned mock up? Reason:
I been in aerospace for 35 years and worked on many things. I do know something about the hostilities of exposure in space. Things are real ugly out there, and hard to believe that that would be a conventional car. To start, the delta t is 400-500 hundred degrees between sunlight and shadow then a negative 200 below. Destructive cosmic radiation, gamma, alpha. Ultra violet light that would burn the paint off of it probably within hours. The interior would melt and unless it was in a Faraday cage, the electronics would be fried instantly. Look how they built the early space capsules out of invariable materials with expansion reliefs and corrugations to control thermal expansion. Just a thought.
The Rocket booster return was incredible and had me up late trying to figure out how that would even be possible carrying extra fuel, doing an about face at 16000 + mph and simultaneously landing a 100 foot cylinder with a tripod vertically. That was the most impressive feature of the launch IMO.
