Burnt popcorn smell and smoke from defrost vent

I searched and found a thread seeing a bloated burnt popcorn smell and smoke coming out of the defrost port of a inventory 83 911SC Targa. I spent ripping aside the HVAC system up front to watch in the ducting and what's clean. I'd find in the surrounding regions several very small evidence of pine tree seeds which were probably deposited by a bark. But because I've smoke billowing in the skillet, I understand that I have high heat inducing something to burn off. That type of heat come in the heat exchangers if I am thinking correctly. I managed to check within the driver's side heat exchanger and it was very clean. I couldn't remove the passenger side due to the oil line at the manner. Incidentally, the smoke is coming mostly in the passenger side defrost port. Any ideas on which the smoke causing debris may be? Might it be feasible for creatures to get within the heat exchangers?
