soft top fault , NO up , No down
hi,
my yr 2000 E46 330ci has a faulty mechanism to put the top up and down . The buttons cause no action . The leds light up , but the roof does not open . I have scanned the CVM ( convertible soft top module ) and it reports "switch, convertible top compartment lid, short to ground or open circuit . Where is the "switch " , so that i can test it ? I am looking for advice , and ( ideally ) some pics or a diagram . Cheers les |

My guess is the wire insulation in soft top has cracked and broken away causing the short.
