sticker significance
I just bought a used 2001 330i. It has a sticker next to the rear license plate with a polo pony or something like that on it. Does this have any BMW significance?
Thanks |

Ralph Lauren used to own your car?
Just kidding... I don't think it has anything to do with BMW... Noting that you live in the Washington DC area (as do I) my guess would be that its some sort of country club or polo club sticker left over from the previous owner... The car isn't from Middleburg, VA, is it?

Or it could be one of those dealer stickers they sometimes put on cars. WHY do they do that?

you'll appreciate this....the sales dude told me that some 300i's are made in South Africa and some in Germany (which I believe is true), but that the sticker signifies cars made in Germany.

It's amazing the BS that the sales people will say... When we recently bought our 525iT, our sales person proudly stated that he had read the owners manuals for ALL of the cars that they sell... Well, Howdy Bob Howdy! I would hope that you would be a little more informed than that! Guess not... |

I dont think there is any truth to that rumor. I was referring to cars, (Usually in the midwest) where the ealer puts their own little badge on the rear of the car, like Jimmy Chitlin BMW or something like that.
