My 2002 330 ci with 18" wheels has gone through two rear shock mounts in 18K miles. I'm about to put the second set on at the dealer, but I'd like to know if there is a better part or parts combo to use that the stock ones. I've heard that some people are having success with mounting the shock mounts from a convertible as those are beefier. Your thoughts please as I don't want to keep replacing these, especially after my warranty is over!

I have E46 M3 convertible shock mounts in my car with lowering springs and Bilstein Sports. They are a direct installation over stock, and I havent had any problems since. I kept popping mounts out of the car with the stock ones. These mounts will fit all the way back to E30.

Jared:
Thank you. I suppose that the M3 E46 convert. mounts will work on my car even if not combined with lowering springs and the Bilsteins? Also, what do you recommend as a shock to SMOOTH the ride. Any bolt on airshocks that fit with the stock springs avail??? I don't race this one and it's a cruiser more or less. (my Carrera is for that) |
