Wheel and Tire size help
I need your assistance with determining the exact width of the following wheels and the smallest tires that will fit on them. I bought these with the intention of using them as winter snow tire wheels on my 2004 325XI and I'm not sure they will work with the width, bolt pattern, and offsets. They are cast with 7JX16 IS46 and 1182760-5 on the face. My assumption is that they are 7" X 16". Any and all information would be appriciated.

I would say they you are correct onthe width and the offset is probably 46 which should work on your car. What do mean by smallest, narrowest or lowest profile?
For snow tires 205/55 or 225/50 are the BMW recommendations for that size rim.

As you've probably figured, the narrower 205's are the better choice for snow, as they tend to cut through rather than ride up on the snow. I ran a set of Pirelli Asymetricos (205/60-HR15) on 15X7 rims on my E-36, and they worked great.
