Overheating 2000 323i
I have an overheating issue with my 2000 3231, there is no water in the oil, or oil in the coolant, but I am losing coolant on the left front of the car. There also seems to be an odd noise coming formthe area of the water pump probably the source of the leak, not sure though ) . But the other day, I went to pick up my son...and the top radiator hose blew off one of the connections by the radiator. Is this a "stuck " thermostat.causing this .or is the water pump in need of replacement ?
Funny thingis..I top it off with a little distilled water and coolant and the temp guage is at dead center of the guage. This car has been great when running properly, but really nickle /dimes me..pathetic for such advanced thinking in a vehicle

I would refill the system, replace the hose and bleed the system. Make sure to follow the bleed procedure in the "Tech Info Center"
If you clean up everything and refill with BMW coolant you can look for the white residue the coolant leaves behind near the leak. If the thermo is stuck closed you will overheat. If it is stuck open then it will take more than 5 min to reach TDC.
