Trany Overhaul

What would be a good ball park figure for overhauling an automatic transmission on a 1999 325i (E46). And any suggestions as to whom I should go to in orange county area.

The transmission gets stuck in 3rd when warmed up generally on longer drives over 30 minutes.

The only re-manufactured tranny I have heard of replaced cost about $2k.

You might find a tranny shop that will rebuild yours for a lot less.

Before any of that I would check fluid level, check for bad wiring at the tranny and change the fluid.
