Poor fuel economy

Hello guys,

I have a 2002 E46 325it 5spd. (128,000km/80,000m) that I purchased in March of this year. I did a full tune-up (spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, engine flush & oil/oil filter change, both belts, trany & diff. fluid and even fuel injector & valve cleaner) after I got the car. I only use 94 octane. Since then the gas mileage has gone down hill. I am in Canada so I was averaging +/- 9.5L/100km & since the tune-up it has progressively gone up to 13L/100km? Any guidance in what could be causing this? or is it just a coincidence and something else is the issue? thanks in advance.

Lukasz

O2 sensor? Plugged cats?

Does it seem to have full power or can you "feel" a restriction?

Any excessive brake dust? Noise from the rear parking brakes?

The car seems to have full power with no restrictions.
There is no excessive brake dust on the brakes & no noise at all.
Could the 02 sensors be gone with no engine fault code light on?

The O2 sensors usually throw CEL codes but I think it is possible for them to fail without throwing a code. That is to say thy can fail in more that one way. You should certainly research it further.
