Transmission and Differential Fluids
I have a 325 CI 2002 with 100,000 miles. I was intending to change both differential and transmission fluids and the mechanic told me that BMW is not supposed to change those fluids...

Your mechanic is correct in saying that BMW states lifetime fluid however, majority of BMW DIY's including myself believed there is no such lifetime fluid. It's your call.

Absolutely change the diff and manual tranny fluids. If it is an automatic the fluid change is a bit more involved.

BMW just used that "lifetime" scam to avoid changing the fluids as part of their supposed "full service" warranties. I would change out the fluids every 60,000 miles.
