I'm thinking about buying a 2006 330xi with the run flat tires. I don't like the idea of the run flats and would like to replace them with regular tires when they wear out.
Question is: can I get a different trunk configuration to accept a full size wheel and tire? |

I hate runflats. I have not encountered your dilemma yet but I have considered it.
I would carry a tire patch kit . sticky rope plugs small inflater (Slime brand from Autozone) needle nose pliers small flat head screwdriver soap water gloves disposable rain parka Also AAA of the BMWCCA version of AAA. The tire patch kit is necessary even with run flats. On a road trip if you get a flat you will have to patch it because getting a new runflat in your size is usually problematic especially on weekends.

The folks that I have known who bought a car with runflats just put conventional tires on it when the runflats wore out, and got a AAA membership (or comparable).

I've had PS2's in both run flat and regular. The PS is the best all around tire on the market, IMHO, that is if you can afford them.
The run flats where very noticeably heavier and significantly changed how the suspension handled moderate+ size road imperfections. I didnt like them. This is on a E46 which was not designed for run flats.

So far, I get them free from Michelin as part of the Michelin Research tire program.
I've never bough used street tires. I drive used track tire tires almost exclusively.
